Auschwitz Jewish Center
The Auschwitz Jewish Center is the only Jewish presence in Oświęcim, the town called Auschwitz during World War II. In September 2000, the Center opened its doors with a threefold mission: to honor the former Jewish residents of Oświęcim and to teach future generations about both the destruction of the Holocaust and the need to combat intolerance and prejudice today.
Today, the Center facilities include the Jewish Museum, the Chevra Lomdei Mishnayot Synagogue, and the Education Center, providing a space for prayer, reflection, and a look at Jewish life in Oswiecim.Currently the Jewish Museum presents New Life exhibition: www.new-life-exhibit.com
Since 2006 the Auschwitz Jewish Center has been affiliated with the Museum of Jewish Heritage – a Living Memorial to the Holocaust in New York.
