DAY1; Warsaw’s sightseeing - part 1
[4-5 hours tour by car, english guide]


Trip starts from the hotel. Drive around modern city center with Palace of Culture and Science, Central Railway Station, Marszałkowska street and Jerozolimskie avenue. Suggestion to visit Palace of Culture with panoramic Warsaw view from 30th floor. Then Łazienki Królewskie park. Walking through the park with Frederic Chopin monument, Orangery, water tank, amphitheatre and Palace on Water. Optional visit the Palace on Water interiors. Drive through the Royal Route including Belveder Palace, Parliament House, Nowy Świat and Krakowskie Przedmieście avenues with Nicolas Copernicus monument, Presidential Palace, the Great Theatre, Pilsudski square with the tomb of an Unknown Soldier. 

Old Town complex with Royal Castle, St. John`s Cathedral, Market Square, Barbakan and medieval city walls, New Town with churches and streets and monument to the Warsaw Uprising 1944. Suggestion to visit the Warsaw Historical Museum and see 20 minutes documental film about destruction and reconstruction of the city. You can also visit the Royal Castle interiors.

Former Ghetto area with monument to ghetto uprising, Umschlagplatz and monuments to polish victims in the soviet camps. We stop to talk about tragic history of the Warsaw Jewish community, once the bigger in Europe and second bigger in the world after New York.

 
DAY2; Warsaw’s sightseeing - Part 2

Trip starts from the hotel. Drive to the Wilanow Palace. XVII century, baroque residence of the Jan III Sobieski one of the most successful polish kings. Kings and Queens apartments, collection of portraits, and first polish museum open to the public in 1805 by another palace owner Stanislaw Kostka Potocki. Beautiful (recently renewed) baroque facades and park.

Drive through the Praga district, unique example of the pre-war Warsaw with some houses still marked by second world war bullets, the scenery of many films, between others "The Pianist" of Roman Polanski. You will also see St. Mary Madeleine orthodox church and neo-gothic St. Florian cathedral (Warsaw has two cathedrals). Praga district last tears became an fashionable bohemian artist district.

Visit to the very modern Warsaw Uprising Museum. The most interesting and most visited Warsaw museum dedicated to the struggle of polish independence and democracy at the end of the WW II.
